A PWOR cadet named Nolan Matthies (pictured) has raised $500 for the Homes For Heroes project in Kingston. Nolan had talked about wanting to do something to support homeless veterans and when helping with the planning of Remembrance Day, he decided to collect donations for H4H at his school. Nolan went from classroom to classroom explaining the importance of his fundraising initiative, inviting his fellow school mates to contribute, which they did, with the consent of their parents. Students have been invited to attend the cheque presentation ceremony, in part to showcase Nolan’s project as an outstanding example of community service.
