The PWOR Foundation Benevolent Fund
The Princess of Wales’ Own Regiment Benevolent Fund, which is a subset of the Princess of Wales’ Own Regiment Foundation, was established to assist soldiers of the regiment who find themselves in financial need and requiring immediate assistance. Disbursements of the fund are made by the Foundation Board at the recommendation of the Commanding Officer and /or the Regimental Chaplain and serves as tangible evidence of the regimental family’s commitment to care for those who serve.
We ask that you consider the PWOR Foundation in your will. When you die, some money from your estate will go to the Foundation as a charitable contribution. Your estate recieves a tax credit equal to the donation thus offsetting an equal amount of income tax that your estate would have to pay.
We ask that you sign a ‘codicil’ to your will designating the Foundation as a beneficiary. You determine how much you would like to leave the Foundation. This is a simple process and does not require you to meet with your lawyer to have your will changed. If you’re concerned about your spouse needing these funds, you can have the funds pass on to the Foundation after the last death.
This is a win-win proposal. Your Estate Tax is reduced, the Foundation receives your gift and your beneficiaries may not be disadvantaged.
Your contribution to the PWOR Benevolent Fund will ensure that the welfare of “Kingston’s Own” is maintained in times of peace and conflict. Cheques can be made payable to the PWOR Foundation (Benevolent Fund).
